I caught a few minutes of a program on the History channel regarding "who really discovered America". It appears there is evidence that some people from the Finnish/Volga-Ural (or Northern Europe) region migrated to North America many, many, many years ago and could be the forebears of some of our Indian tribes. You have to remember that DNA can trace ancestry back much further than what you could ever find in record books--like thousands of years rather than hundreds of years.
