I just got my husbands DNA and it was 40% Finnish/Volga-Ural. That is so awesome because his Mother is 100% Tatar. Now that is one heck of an ancestry to figure out. We did hear something about the fact that they were Finnish Tatars and now it is comfirmed I suppose. I read all the comments here and no one mentioned Tatar. So maybe this will be an interesting subject. The Tatars from his family are more fair skinned than most. In reading about Tatars I believe it said they are from many tribes of ancient times. So maybe that is why so many of you can't find the connection. Like it was said.....it is so long ago. Another trait is their almond shaped eyes. I think I remember my Mother in law saying something about Mongolia. Maybe her Tatars are a tribe from Mongolia. Any thoughts? His Aunt is still alive and I'd love to get a sample from her, but that may be hard with that generation.
