I'm half German on my mother's side as both of her parents were born in Germany. My DNA results show 45% Central European ethnicity. Central European includes Germany. I have a member match whose surname is the same as my maternal grandfather's and we have figured out that our common ancestors lived in Germany during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. My member match is 50% Central European ethnicity.
