Surnames: DeBary, Barry
I am Z142-, which would account for the GD. My family is unusual, with a Z49+/Z142- haplogroup and a rare value, DYS388=11 on my STR results. It appears that the Barrys originated in Flanders, and went to England with William, whose wife was the daughter of the Count of Flanders. From there, they went to Ireland in the 12th century, although a branch, DeBary, remained in Tournai and members of that line later dispersed throughout Europe and to America.

We have a Barry surname project on FTDNA.
