I'm sure Patricia meant a bare bones public tree.

I've contacted private tree owners. The occasional one is helpful and we work out where we are connected. This is not the norm.

Then there are those who want to know what surname we match on and until I tell them that then no more information is forthcoming. I can't see the surnames or locations when their tree is private so that's the end of that correspondence.
