AlexandersMA,
IF you have a private tree, you ARE missing out on possible contact with someone who may have the very clue you are missing in your tree. There are many of us who have public trees and we despair of contacting yet one more private tree owner. We might not contact YOU, because we've had such a poor batting average with all the other private tree owners. Just saying. :(
Why NOT post a bare bones private tree and attach link your DNA where it goes and see how much more easily connections may occur.
You cannot imagine how frustrating it is, for public tree owners, to see a potential match, and yet NOTHING is visible as to what may match when the match is a private tree. We see NOTHING. No surnames, no hint of a match (even if there is a HINT!). It's rather unfair. That's all, just plainly and unequivocably unfair.
Best to you!
Patricia
