I thought the selectivity in the surname overlap (not picking up all even when in the direct lines of both) might be related to the phasing and more than just a search aid? As a search aid it is probably helpful but if it is a part of the phasing than having both surnames from my mom's line and my dad's line is a bit sketchy. But it also would mean I may not be able to chose to ignore one surname, they may really mean that I have to accept the cluster. That is also challenging because these people were different locations and eras.
