Yes, I agree that in the minority of cases there are legitimite reasons to have no tree or a private tree.

The vast majority are free loaders who feel that they are entitled to your information but could care less about helping you with your tree.

People are very good at making excuses for not sharing their tree.
Please make some kind of effort.
Produce a stripped down tree without pictures, documents, sensitive or speculative information if that is a concern.

Private tree owners should realize that their private tree is the equivalent of a "do not disturb' sign.

Ancestry has not responded to any feedback regarding this issue.

What it boils down is that ancestry is charging me a fee, tells me I have a DNA match and then shows me that the tree is private.
Money for nothing.
Why am I paying money for this?
