I guess I can see why it might be hard, though, since everyone has different matches. Do they create new searchable databases for each customer (containing *all* of that person's match tree names/dates), or do they create a search that is able to say "look for (whatever), but only search those trees attached to customers flagged as matches to this person who is logged in and doing the search"?
I have no idea. Maybe some actual programmers have theories? At FTDNA and 23andMe, you can search for text that people have manually entered into their profiles, but that's it. The search is across very static, limited, unformatted information. What we want from Ancestry seems to be more complicated... although you'd think they could at least let us search for the names of our matches. Pffft... :)
