Hello: I have just received my results, I had my father's dna tested. I have several questions, what now? Is there any help on Ancestry.com that will tell you what to do with the results, I have lots of closer matches, but have only found one that has a relative on their's that is also on my tree, so how do I figure out how they might be related? Most of the matches do not even have a common name in their lists, and I am illiterate when it comes to things like this, but when looking for some kind of connection, I should be looking at just the matches grandparents and so on, not their spouses, is that correct? Also, I had his Y DNA tested 3 years ago through ftdna, and would like to transfer these results to them, but do not know how to do that also. I am surprised that Ancestry.com doesn't send you an email or something, that will tell you how to do these things. Thank you for any help in advance.
