replying to Joseph Case: You've highlighted one of the weaknesses of the AncestryDNA leaf hinting system. The leaf hints do not in anyway "prove" the path of any common DNA between two people; rather, the hints show that two people have the same name in their respective trees. Yes, these two people will have passed the (private, unpublished) threshold for being DNA cousins, but any American with colonial ancestors will be DNA cousins to thousands or even millions of other Americans.
