THere's a lot that's unknown about it---it's possibly in a Syrian archaeological dig; it turns up in the Balkans. Apparently other H's ran into trouble with a cold snap (of thousands of years) in Europe, while us H5s were snugged down in Georgia, Bulgaria, and the Balkans; we're found in Greece, Turkey, southern Italy, HOLLAND and maybe FINLAND? Everything makes some dim sense, except Finland and Holland. Some determined lady made one heckuva hike. You can figure Finland and Holland being connected---but were the H5s actually spread clear into Europe BEFORE having their European center massively killed off by the cold everywhere but the seacoast? Were they fisher-folk that just couldn't make a living with frozen rivers? Were they chased out of the middle of Europe in some cultural conflict? We're boringly explicable---except what the heck those groups were doing up north...did they do an end run around the Caspian, as some groups did? Looks to me like they might have made the passes in the Alps---although maybe that was a barrier they couldn't manage.
