I noticed there were no answers to your query. I think you might have some luck on the Orleans Parish Query Forum at http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/La/Orleans. At the New Orleans Public Library there is a card catalogue index of obits and marriages that have been in the newspapers there. I have found obits going back as far as 1850. There are many volunteers who do look ups. I am not in New Orleans, and may not get there for a while. I hope this helps. Michelle
