YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – Services will be held on Monday June 16, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the LEE. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Barry Dorsey.
Mr. Dorsey was born on May 31, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of Mark and Josephine Phillips Williams Dorsey.
In 1960, the family moved to Youngstown, OHIO. Barry attended Lincoln Elementary School and was a graduate of South High School. Barry held jobs at Aliquippa Steel, B.J. Alan Fireworks Co. and was employed by OHIO One until his illness.
During his illness and until his death, Barry, received excellent and loving care by his earthly angel, his sister, Brenda Parker. On June 6, 2008, six days after celebrating his 55th birthday, Barry peacefully departed this life to enter into eternal rest. Barry loved fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, LaKisha and Sabrina Dorsey; six grandchildren, Ajia, Shante’, Kyashia, Mytell, Brian, and Emoni Dorsey, all of Youngstown; three sisters, Gloria (Chester) Davis of Lansing, Mich., Brenda Parker of Youngstown, and Beverly Crankfield of Austell, Ga.; three brothers, Gerald Williams and Jimmy Dorsey, both of Youngstown, and his twin, Larry of RoSharon, Texas; two great aunts, Velma Kelley of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Alberta Glover of Cincinnati; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dwight E. Dorsey.
Friends may call one half-hour prior to services from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the LEE. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home in Youngstown.
