MANSFIELD, OHIO: Bonnie B. Whitt, 79, died Friday, October 19, 2012, at home after an extended illness.
Bonnie was born in Akron, Alabama on March 12, 1933, to the late Albert Whitt and Clara Collins-Whitt.
He made Mansfield, Ohio his home. He enjoyed his family and was self-employed as a Landscaper for many of years.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his wife, Bessie Mae Melton-Whitt, of Mansfield; two daughters, Patricia Ann Whitt, of Mansfield and Bernice (Allen) Whitt, of Columbus, Ohio; Three sons, Jessie J. (Lakisha) Whitt, of Mansfield, Michael (Betty) Whitt, of Columbus, and Bobby (Mocheet) Whitt, of Lorain, Ohio; a sister, Minnie Merle Whitt, of Detroit, MI; five sister-in-laws, Idell House, Beatrice Melton, Ruby Melton and Nancy Melton, all of Mansfield; six brother-in-laws, Benny (Annelle) Melton, Charlie (Orace) Melton, Willie C. Melton, Melvin Melton, Alanzo Melton and Anthony (Lori) Melton, all of Mansfield; 27 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Willie Whitt, Albert Whitt, James E. Whitt, John L. Whitt and Sammie L. Whitt; three sisters, Rosie Lee Whitt-Walters, Annie Bushie and Sally Ryan.
The services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with one hour prior calling, at Small's Funeral Services, 326 Park Avenue West, with Bishop William W. Morris officiating. The burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at 247 Wempless Ave., until the day of the services.
