Notes: The only Negro bishop of the Episcopal Church in America, the Rev. Edward T. Demby, suffragan bishop of Arkansas, died here yesterday at Ingelside Hospital. Bishop Demby, 88, who was granted his bachelor of divinity degree by Wilberforce University in 1929, is listed in Who's Who. Born in Wilmington, Del., Bishop Demby had his first parish in Mason, Tenn. Bishop Demby had lived at 10519 Englewood Ave., with his wife, Antoinette Ricks, the first registered Negro nurse in Cleveland. She died last year. They had been married 53 years. Services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at Trinity Cathedral. Among those participating will be Bishop Nelson M. Burroughs; the Rev. Beverley D. Tucker, retired bishop; the Rev. John C. Davis of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Tolly Caution of New York.
