Hi Everyone,
It's Toni Carrier from the USF Africana Heritage Project, writing to report that the Magnolia Plantation Foundation in Charleston, SC, is funding a project for us to conduct research in Drayton family papers, to reconstruct the family lineages of enslaved communities on Drayton family plantations.
This is the first time a former slaveholding family has ever undertaken or funded genealogical research in their family papers. We are profoundly grateful to them, and we would like to hear from descendants. The Drayton family held plantations in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Texas.
You can read about this groundbreaking research at the follwing URL:

If you know or feel that your family has roots on Drayton family plantations, please do contact us. We would like to welcome you to the group and learn about your family's history.
You can contact us at toniheadr@aol.com or info@africanaheritage.com
Best and Peace,
Toni
