YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mr. Clifford James Griffin, 82, departed this life Saturday, May 12, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Griffin, affectionately known as “Cowboy,” was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Sanford, Florida,(Seminole County) a son of Jim and Lovie Anderson Griffin.

He was a construction worker with Laborer’s Union Local 125.
He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching boxing and baseball.
Mr. Griffin was a U.S. Army veteran.

He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, his wife, Linda; a daughter, Shirley (Shizar Dean) Griffin of Youngstown, OH; a son, Clifford (Olatha) Fletcher of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Taylor of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Sylvester Griffin of Orlando, Floria; and a host of loving family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma Heard, Bertha Bryant, Cephas, Roy C., Rosevelt and Cornelius Griffin.

Services will be Monday, May 21, 2012, at 11 a.m.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements entrusted to the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio
