Peter George & Phyllis Stone of Florida
Hi,
My wife's 5 x great Grandfather was Peter George FLORIDA. He is described in the baptismal records in Radnage, Buckinghamshire, England as "a negro child about eight years of age" - this took place on 22nd Oct 1769. He married Phillis Stone on 23 Sept 1781 again in Radnage and is described as "described as a negro man of this parish".
I have been unable to find anything about his parentage. Was he a runaway slave? Was he brought over here (UK) from plantations in FLORIDA for work? Did he come over with his parents? I just don't know.
Does anyone have any ideas/links with the same FLORIDA family
Look forward to hearing from you all
Ivor
