YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Union Baptist Church for Mrs. Rosie Love, 94, who departed this life Monday, May 12, 2008 at Hospice House.
Mrs. Love was born June 10, 1913 in Worth County, Ga., a daughter of Eddie and Julia Gatewood Ward, coming to this area in the early 1920s as a child.
She was employed as an assembler with Ravenna Arsenal. Rosie was also a caregiver for various families in the area and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church, one of its church mothers and a member of the Mission Ministry. She enjoyed reading, especially books about the Wild Wild West. She also enjoyed fishing and fondly making quilts for babies, particularly her grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert, whom she married March 26, 1948, passed away May 21, 1989.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son, Stanley (Mary Louise) Tripp of Alta Loma, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucille Crim; one granddaughter; one great-great-great grandson; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
