Long time coming, but Wow! Very interesting. I am hoping one day to be able to find information like this on my ggg grandmother Eliza Sears of Centertown. Born a slave 1832 at Linn Creek, Mo. Sold at the age of 2 to Judge W.C.Young. Apparently, he tried to buy her mother as well, but the owner said, no. Not sure why, can only guess that he had fathered her children. I would like to know who sold her. I can not find any records, but I keep on looking. If not for the kindness of people like you who post this information we would not have any clues at all.
