Has anyone else noticed their family tree's records being cherry picked? By that I mean if you have a family tree worked out generations back to say...colonial virginia or the Pilgrims, someone will attach records and relations from their tree to yours but try to not show that they are also part black.
For example I will login to ancestry and see that someone has browsed and attached records from my tree to theirs. Records showing or suggesting a relation to this Indian, or that Jamestown settler....by way of a mixed race person. Then when I look at their tree they have not followed up on branches that indicate that person's mixed race status OR even altered them to totally white wash that branch.
Has anyone noticed this issue, or is it just my imagination? Can people really be that squimish about having some black ancestors 11 or 12 generations back?
