WILLIAM C. GOATLEY

Funeral services were held today in the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum, Pennsylvania for William C. Goatley, 65, of R.D. 1, Wampum, Pa. who died Friday in the Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, Pa. following a four year illness.

Born in Brandenburg, Kentucky (Meade County) on December 17, 1895, he was a son of the late Parker and Emma Dowle Goatley.

The deceased was a former employe of the Medusa Portland Cement company, Wampum, for 44 years, and belonged to the Wampum Baptist church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his widow, Imogene Shelby Goatley; a son, Wendell at home; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Miller, Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Bayless, Yellow Springs, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Lynn McClanahan, San Francisco, California, and Miss Winifred Goatley, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Albert Goatley, East St. Louis, Illinois, and eight grandchildren. A son, Leonard Goatley died in September, 1956.

Officiating at the services today were the Rev. R.C. Williams, pastor of the Wampum Baptist church and the Rev. C.L. Alexander, former pastor there.

Interment was in Clinton Cemetery.
