This is what I know so far:<br><br>*My great-grandfather was MANUEL JOSE TEIXIERA from Fogo, Cape Verde Islands (West Africa)<br>*came to MA on the "Irmaos Amigos" around 1910<br>*came with cousin Franco who died in New Bedford (1920-30)<br>*settled in the Taunton/Fall River, MA area<br>*married Ruth Odom had 4 kids :Julia/Everett/Margaret/Ruth <br>*I know he had sisters/family in Fogo (Villa de S. Felipe?)<br>*changed his name when he got here to Joseph (from Jose?)<br><br>I really want to go to Cape Verde within 1-2 yrs to visit, but I want to do more research so I can actually meet distant relatives.
