YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Paul E. Black Sr., who departed this life Wednesday, June 29, 2011.
Mr. Black was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan the son of Lehman E. Black, Sr. and Leah Jackson Moss and stepmother, Mrs. M. June Black.
He was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School attended Central State University and Youngstown State University.
He was a member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church. He had been employed with Youngstown Sheet & Tube in the employment office, and the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1958 to 1961.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Paul E. Black Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio and Michael E. Black of Cincinnati; a daughter, Tiffanie Black of Youngstown; five sisters, Mrs. Karen Hovell of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Maryanna (Horace) Stonework of Hercules, Calif., Mrs. Lynn Green of Youngstown, Ms. Cheryl Andrews and Ms. Allison Moss, both of Detroit; two brothers, Dr. Lehman E. (Janie) Black Jr. of Sacramento, California, and Mr. Allen Moss of Detroit; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Moss; and father and stepmother, Lehman and M. June Black.
Friends may call Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
