I am looking for a list of Missouri Plantaions and a listing of the plantation owners. My Great Grandmother was the daughter of a plantation owner who married a mulatto to escape her father. She was Scotts-Irish and listed herself as Mulatto to marry my Great-grandfather. (From what family history states, her father was a real tyrant.) All of the records I've found have her listed as Mulatto, but she was white. Her married name was Ella Kinkade, and my Great Grandfather's name was Henry Kinkade (he was black and Blackfoot Indian, and served in the US Col'd Infantry under Captain William Durkee). Her maiden name was Yager, but I don't know how it was spelled. She also had a sister named Adelaide, and a brother named Bud. The plantation had 350 slaves on it.
Any idea where I could find such a list? Thanks!
