YOUNGSTOWN – A funeral service celebrating the life of Leatha Parker Cousin will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cousin departed life Dec. 17, 2012, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center.
Mrs. Cousin was born June 8, 1921, in Houston, Mississippi, a daughter of Joseph and Minnie Francis Howell Parker.
She was a graduate of Mary Holmes Jr. College in West Point and she was a former teacher at Hope Zion School.
She was a devoted homemaker and member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughters, Hallie Cousin, Helen Cousin-James and her husband, Orlando and Theresa Cousin and her companion, Curtis Thomas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Dessie Mae Parker and Ruby Cousin; her brother-in-law, Warren Cousin and his wife, Zora; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rand “R.D.” Cousin; her daughter, Erie Lee; her brothers, George and Eloise Parker; and her sister, Inez Parker-Reid.
Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Washington Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery, Youngstown,Ohio.
