Hi, I am interested in any information you might have on the Underwood line, coming from Richmond County,North Carolina. I have traced my roots back to Mary Undewood-Rusell, she married a James Russell, she was born in North Caroline, not sure if it was Richmond or some other county, as the county split back then. Mary Underwood was born in 1788 and was a free woman, at least when she appears in Terre Haute, Indiana. One of her son's was John Underwood, born in 1804 Richmond, County, NC, another son Brinkley Russell, with her husband James Russell. I would love to know more about Mary Underwood. You mentioned comparing notes, I would love to know what you have learned. Thanks, Sheila
