Classification: Query
Surnames: HOLBROOK, JOHNSON, CHATHAM, CHEATHAM, JAMES, SIZEMORE, HALL, TAYLOR
I am seeking any slave name information from the following NW NC families:
From Traphill (or Roaring River), Wilkes County, NC
Slaves of Capt. Samuel Johnson, his wife Mary Hamon Johnson or their children, particularly Col. John Simpson Johnson. Capt. Samuel Johnson was a son of Jefferie Johnson. The family originated in VA.
Slaves of any Holbrook of Traphill (or Roaring River)Wilkes Co., NC. This line Holbrooks were descended from Randolph/Ralph/Caleb/John or others. This family originated in VA.
Slaves of the Chatham/Cheatham family of Wilkes and Surry Cos., NC. This family originated from VA.
I am particularly interested in connecting with ANY African-American Holbrook line. My brick wall ancestor is Kizziah/Keziah/Kizzie/Kessie (Chatham/Cheatham?) Holbrook (1804-Aft.1880).
All help greatly appreciated, glad to exchange info.
Thank you,
lwg
