Hey!

I have found a few names that could be linked to the Hancocks we are looking for,,, if not you can tell me ok?

I did some research on the Alcorn Tishimingo, and Prentiss County Records,, Up until 1890 it was all together and known as just Tishimingo County.

Here is the info I have found....

J. M. Hancock--- 1840 Census Record

Owners of Slaves:

Year--1860's
J. M. Hancock owned 7 slaves
J. P. Hancock owned 2 slaves

I would put my word , that J. P. was John M.'s son!

School Records show there were Hancock children in school during 1856-1859.. the names are at the Alcorn County Court House and I am planning on visiting there this week.

Also,,, Benjamin Hancock was listed on the 1840 census record,,,and also these years

1876,,,1880

Has that he settled here in 1837 from South Carolina!
He was also in records at the court house in 1882!

If any of these names sound familiar,, please let me know,,, or if you wish for me to look for some one certian while I am at the court house,, please send me the names,,, ASAP!!!

Hope to hear from you soon!!
