Coleman Duncan Jr. held 7 slaves in Nelson County: Bemiss, Charles, Green, Harriet, Lucy, Nancy, and Rachel. It had been 8, but Rachel's young (un-named) child died at age 7 days in late 1856. So far I have been able to identify 144 slaves that were held by the Duncan family, mostly in Nelson County and some in Hardin County. KY. Earliest mention so far is in the 1820s. Most of the owners are closely related.
