Sorry I'm late (as usual)... Anywhoo... There were 2 of my extended Nelson County, VA kinfolk from this area of Lovingston, Massies Mill, and Amherst.

The first one was born Nov. 1850. He was a slave/farm laborer of James Taliaferro, and worked on the plantation in Peddler, Amherst, VA. - The wife of James Taliaferro was Balinda Smith (1800 - 1883).

This George Sandidge married Bettie (last name, or surname Unknown). Their chillins were: Ollie, Scott, Pearl, Marshall, Kallie, and Lottie. This George Sandidge, died in 1919.

The second George Sandidge, also from Amherst, (Temperance, Amherst, to be more precise) was born in 1865, and died in 1880. He was the son of Roderick (also a slave of Balinda Smith - Taliaferro), and Emily.

This George Sandidge had a brother named Boyd Sandidge who married Virgie Taylor. - Roderick, and Emily had 13 chillins.
