Vaca Families
Has anyone connected the Juan Manuel Vaca, founder of Vacaville, with the early explorer Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca.
My son and I are researching Cabeza de Vaca for a school report and I've found what looks like a sketchy trail of his descendants from Cadiz, Spain, to Mexico City, then up to New Mexico were Juan Manuel Vaca and family moved to San Bernardino, California in 1841 with the Rowland-Workman expedition.
We've found plenty of interesting facts about Cabeza de Vaca, but we'd like to verify the trail of his descendants in general (no great details needed) before we put anything in the report.
Thank you, Valerie
