Do you know when your HUNTER's arrived in the U.S.? My James HUNTER was born August 14, 1778/9. On the last two census of his life, 1850 & 1860, he said he was born in Pennsylvania. In 1980 census, his eldest daughter, Elizabeth, said her father was born in Ireland. James died April 23, 1867. Could he have been a stowaway? Ha, maybe.

I have HUNTER connections to DICKERSON (not DICKENSON). Of my James HUNTER's 9 children, 3 married DICKERSON's in Illinois between 1832 - 1841. Any connection?
