Obligation by Gilbert Kennedy son and heir of Umquhil (dec’d ?) Rolland Kennedy of Leffnol

to Gilbert Kennedy of Dunure his master,

by which the said Gilbert Kennedy of Leffnol obliges him and his heirs as well of line as of tailzie not to impede or trouble the said Gilbert Kennedy of Dunure and his successors in his lands possessions and offices vizt.

in the 34 merk land of Kirkintulloch, lying in the Barony of Lenzie,
the Barony of Dalrymple,
the Barony of Cassillis,
the lands of Dunure,
the lands of Girvan,
the lands of Ardshean,
the 5 merk land of Glenop called Dupenmenan, and
10 merk land of Glendowist called Dalshangan,

and in the office of head of the family of Kennedy and leading of the men thereof,

and office of Bailie of Carrick with the keeping of the Castle of Lochdown;

and in the event of the said Gilbert of Leffnol or his heirs failling to fulfil the said obligation, then he obliges him and them to pay to the said Gilbert of Dunure and his heirs, upon the high altar of the Church of Mayboll the sum of £6,000 money of Scotland 28 Oct 1454
