VIRGIL L. LOCKHART, SR., 89, widower of Ouida Burns Lockhart, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. He was born July 20, 1914, in Lesage, W.Va., a son of the late Melroy and Myrtle Pearl Reed Lockhart. He was a line type operator for Chapman Printing and a member of the Sybene Senior Citizen Center. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel June Angle. Survivors include a son, Virgil L. Lockhart, Jr. of South Carolina; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Blatt of Huntington; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother M.C. Lockhart and three sisters, Mary Green, Elsie Noe and Bert Blair. Contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
