My McDonald's emigrated from Knoydart on board the ship "McDonald" in 1786. They settled after a short stay at Terrebonne, Québec in Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada. These McDonald's are said to have been Clan Ranald. I'm James of Basil of William of Duncan of Hugh (Ùisdean) of John (the immigrant over in '86) of John of Ranald known as "Ranald the Calf". Ranald would have likely been born circa 1680-1690. If any one has come across this name as part of their Clan Ranald research (in establish Clan charts, pedigrees, ect.) please let me know.
