My great grandparents, I found on the Canadain Archives, living in South Indian Villiage (now Limoges). William MacKay was listed as a Canadian Soldier, English speaking, and was 66 years old at the time of the 1901 census was taken, born Dec 25 1835. His wife Emma (last name unknown, French Canadian), in the census she was listed and french speaking and uneducated, born 1855.
Their children all french speaking and Scottish background.

Alice, March, 17 years old, (grandmother. Gave birth to Albert Joseph Richer June 1914 Limoges, father unknown first name, last name Richer. It is known that Alice either died of TB or in a train crash in 1914 or 1915.)

George, March 14 years old (never married)

Mary Jane, June, 12 years (married Damas Bonnefant, 1 child, Real Bonnefant in Ottawa. Raised Albert Richer after the death of her sister Alice.)

Victoria, April, 10 years

Arthur, April, 7 years old (married to Yvonne and moved to Niagra Falls, NY where he raised his children. Children still live there)

also, someone living in Clarence Creek sent me this info he found of the MacKay's who died in the area.

The children of William MacKay changed their names to McKay.
