Some additional details that might be of help on this group:

James Robert McClaren was born Bet. 1765 - 1775 and died Bet. 1810 - 1820, probably in Venango County, PA. William was born abt 1800 and died in 1840 in Owen County, IN. James was born 15 Jul 1801 and died 27 Jun 1882 in Mercer County, MO. Rankin was born 10 Jun 1804 and died 20 Jun 1851 in Greene County, IN.

William was married to Mary Ann Cannon. James was married to Mary McDonald. Rankin was married to Margaret Bunnell.

Two probable daughter are Jane McClaren who married David Adams and Margaret McClaran who married James Gilliland.

All of these families are in Venango County, IN, until the late 1830's and some stayed into the later 1800's. The three sons were in Owen/Greene County, IN in 1840-1850 and many descendants are still there.
