Joanie Marie, you might want to consider checking out the www.clanmaclellan.net website, which is the official website of Clan MacLellan. We provide a great deal of information about McClellans (with various spellings) and have a genealogy database. When someone joins ($20/yr for individual; $25/yr for family membership) they send our genealogy archivist all the information they have on their McClellan ancestors and she enters it into the database. If she finds a match with other members, or additional information on your line, she lets the member know. We also have a link on the website to Kirkcudbright and we have quarterly newsletters. My ancestors (Robert and Nichola (Gordon) McClellan) left there in 1774 and settled in VT and NY. You may contact me directly at nancy.sears@shelbybb.net if you have questions.
