I am researching my grandmother's family the Mundells/Howatsons from Loch Broom, Ross and Cromarty. My great uncle, John McNab Mundell(b.1883) emigrated to Eldoret, Kenya in 1910. He opened a general store/bar/hotel. I found a reference to my great uncle in 'The Pioneers' Scrapbook Reminiscences of Kenya 1890 to 1968' (www.mu.ac.ke/eldoret/eldhis.html). It says, "His uncle, John, was Chief of the Clan MacNab." In my research I have not found any connections between the Mundells/Howatsons and 'John, Chief of the Clan MacNab'. Can anyone steer me in the right direction to verify this? Any information would be much appreciated.
