Hugh McPherson was my Great Grandfather. He was a master roller in the Iron and Steelworks. He grew up in Poplar and after marrying moved around the country seeking work. He arrived in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, I the 1870’s where he settled with his wife. They had 9 children. He died in Carlin How, North Yorkshire.
