Middleton DNA test

We got our fifth MIDDLETON Y Test result back. It was another one that traced back to Monroe Co., AL. The DNA is pretty conclusive proof that three of the five MIDDLETON's who moved there in 1820-30 were closely related.

Unfortunately DNA does not tell us the exact relationship between them. More than likely they were brothers but from a scientific perspective all we can say is the had a common ancestor.

With 5 results posted we have three that match 12/12. We have two others that match each other 12/12 but differ from the first three on 4 different loci. We still have two clearly defined families.

This supports our belief that the name arose among different groups, possibly in England, Scotland, and Wales. Additional testing in the UK should will identify specific geographic locals for our ancesteral Middletons.
