I did a Y-DNA25 makers Rose surname DNA test . I had no Rose matches, and I'm still no further a head?????????

I am just beginning my research of my Great Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandmother Perry and Sarah Rose. My Grandmother Callie Margaret Rose (maiden name) told me they came to the US sometime in the late 1800's, but information is sketchy beyond that. If you or anyone have any suggestions on what my next steps should be, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am a descendant of Donald/Daniel Rose and Elizabeth Grant who came to the US from Scotland in about 1800. My grandmother's uncle was Davis Stuart Rose, mayor of Milwaukee in the very early 1900's. My gr gr grandparents were James and Phebe (Budlong) Rose. I have a book on the descendants of Donald and ElizabethGrant Rose written in 1973 by my grandmother's cousin Alexander Grant Rose III and Dorothy
Harcourt Goldsmith- so my family info hasn't been updated since 1973.

I am wondering if there are other Rose's from this branch?

Is there any information about Roses that entered the US VIA the Carolinas and settled in Tennessee?
I know the family legends but not hard details.

He had 21 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren.

Some of the last names knowen to me by marrige are,

John Belcher. Jim wance died 6/26/1896. Alva Johnson, Aunta Docies son.

My uncle by marriage, William Albert Rose, was born in Montreal, Canada in 1917, the eldest of 11 children. William Albert married Joan Constance Rose in Horley, Surrey in 1941 - he was with the Canadian forces in WW2.

Unfortunately he is now dead and all I have to go on is that his father and mother were from Bradford - at least, we think they were married - and went to Montreal just before WW1.

A long shot but perhaps someone might know of this family.

my ggrandfather was John Rose I have no dates for him.My grandfather was Charles Oliver Rose BORN 1874,d 1947,Brantford ontario canada.married Ida May Muscle. Mussel
born 1886 d1952 lived in brantford ontario.Had 7 childern

Clan and Associations postings

Dear All:

This thread/topic is intended as a forum for the
Clan to post their Notices and the Clan Associations
to post their web sites, notices of meetings and
gatherings. Even Newsletters ( by permission of the
Clan officials) are permitted here.

The correct procedure for posting here is to:
A: do a reply to this message. Erase the subject heading
above and then >
B: enter the name of your association and connection
to the clan.
C: Follow on postings are then replied to that unique
association. I would think that subject and dates
would then be appropriate subject headings.

The intention is to allow the Clan to have a thread
and each respective association to have a thread that
it can maintain with its newsletters and notices.
That way the basic thread of the association can be
referenced by URL in emails and other web sites.

Please forward this message to the Clan headquarters office,
its international associations and
other affiliated groups that may be interested in
posting here. Posting this notice to the Surnames message boards
and Surname mailing list or sending to Secretary of the
Clan, the Clan Associations and the Septs of the Clan
would also be appreciated.

Ancestors postings

Dear All:

Please start a separate sub-thread under this
thread ( just do a reply) for each Clan ancestor.

The thread on this board (and the mailing list) is intended for
comments, hints on how to locate, and discussions
on those distant ancestors ( sometimes brick walls) that are
very hard to locate. Anyone with knowledge of the
Clan Ancestors or searching for ancestors and especially
the Clan Genealogist are especially encouraged to post
their finding on the Clan ancestors.

Please do not use this board for merely looking for
recent descendants. That function is better in the
Surname message boards and mailing lists.

Use the standard procedure in the subject header of
inserting your family ancestor information in the following format
NAME > location > dates
