Thanks for the quick reply. I am a bit fuzzy on how the Ardrsheal line and the Stewarts of Appin line up. Nonetheless your news sounds as though it may be encouraging.
With your urging, I'll investigate the site you mentioned.
I have no image of Duncan from the 1600's. There are a number of court records where he is mentioned. I even have the name of the man to whom he was indentured in Ipswich MA - George Hadley. Have contacted his descendants to see if they have any records. None found.
I will have to think if I have any photo's of his grandsons but yes, I do have that fragile family tree. It was evidently put together by another relative of ours (?) many years ago.
At the Stewart Society in Edinborough, and as you have probably found online, there are many of us in search of a thread linking our Duncan Stewart to his home in Scotland.
