Hi George:

Thanks, I received the attachment and I will compare to mine. My husbands line was living in North Uist. They were boat builders and Sea Captains of full rigged sailing ships that traveled the world. Also mentioned in diaries were pirates and hiwaymen. They weren't mentioned in the diaries as they apparently were dark sheep. This line of Stewart's married Macdonalds & Mcleods so the dark sheep could have been there. Such an interesting and juicy bit of research to be had. So, I found these Stewarts in North Uist in the 1800's. They emigrated to Nova Scotia in 1834. From there they scattered. We live in California. My e-mail: I see you have a tree on Ancestry, so do I. I will send you an invite if you wish. Ann
