Knoell/Knoll in Gundy Center, IA

My greatgrandparents came over from the Old Country. The were Germans living in Bohemia and citizens of Austria.
Emilian Hazel Knoell	b: November 20, 1855 in Vlchovice, P. O. Madlov, Pardubice, Ohres of Usti nad Orlici, Bohemia d: July 07, 1940 in New Helena, Custer Cty, NE
..+Marie (Mari) Langer b: September 10, 1862 in Kunvald, Pardubice, Ohres Usti nad Orlici, Bohemia	m: July 11, 1880 in Rokinitz or Mladkov, Bohemia	d: August 11, 1941 in Grand Island, Hall Cty, NE
Emilian was persuaded to leave Bohemia and come to America by Pius Christen who had been here since 1886. He left for the U.S. from Rekonivk with one child, Mae. They arrived in America in New York on the SS Elbe on April 15, 1892. He was 37 years old. He and Mae went to Gundy Center, Iowa to his sister's house to await Marie and the other children.
I have no idea of the married name of his sister. Guess I am hoping someone will recognize the surname as the maiden name of their great grandmother. We spell it Knoell but I know it was spelled Knoll with a umlaug over the "o" in many places.
Audrey

Hargrafen/Hargrave Family

I am looking for info on Bernard Hargrafen who came from Germany with brother Fredrick & possibly with sisters Mary Ann & Catherine. Bernard is my husband's gggrandfather. He became a naturalized citizen in 1836 in Jo Davies County, Indiana (I think that's the correct date). Some of the family kept the Hargrafen spelling of the name & in my husband's family for some reason (which I don't know why) they started spelling it as Hargrave. I've seen other spellings of the name such as Hargraffen,Hogrefen, Hoggrefen. Any info would be appreciated very much. Would like to find out who Bernard's parents were & who his brothers & sisters were. I have info on my husband's family if anyone is interested. Thank You

I am looking for the German origin of William Weikert (1817 - 1863) of Moscow Township. He was married to Anna Martha MOELLER (1829-1915) and descendants still live in the county. William is listed as Bavarian in the census, but family tradition calls him a Rhinelander. As Bavaria owned much of the Rhineland during the proper time period, this is reasonable - but where in the Rhineland?

Albert had several brothers and sisters that may have settled in Charter Oak, Iowa. Anna, Edna, Louie, and Bill or William are some of the siblings. Have very little info except that Albert's father may have been named Fred or Frederick? My grandfather was born in about 1896 and passed away in 1975. Anyone have similar family veins?
Thanks,
sally
