I found some queries on the Norwegians in Chicago mailing list but can't find the darn thing to post a reply....not ready to subscribe to yet another mailing list, so HOPEFULLY you'll see this post. Perhaps since May you already have this info from Naeseth, vol II, pages 210-211.
In one of the queries on the mailing list it states that Knud Anderson Saue, aka John Anderson, immigrated in 1845 on the Kong Sverre. My great, great grandmother was on that ship and I checked that passenger list and did not find him. However, I did find the following:
Olaf Kjerre, arrived in New York, June 22, 1846, having sailed 40 days earlier from Bergen. B. A. Krogh, Captain, 98 passengers.
#158--Anders Knudsen Saue, son of Knud Brynilsen BÃ¸ and Kristi Andersdatter, bap in Voss, Ho, Feb. 23, 1806. Emigrated from Voss, Ho, to Chicago, IL. Died 1849. Married June 7, 1836 to
Ragnild Samsonsdatter Ã˜en, daughter of Samson Pederson Ã˜en and Brithe Nielsdatter, bap in Voss, Ho, Sept. 22, 1812, died in Chicago IL Aug 8, 1897.
Anders Andersen Saue, born Jan. 3, 1843.
Knud Andersen Saue, born March 26, 1836. Printer and publisher of Skandinaven and many books. Took the name John Anderson. Died Feb 24, 1910. Married 1859 to Marie C. Frank, daughter of Frank and Brithe Baardsdatter Rogne, born 1841, died April 10, 1872. Two children: Franklin Seward, born Aug 18, 1860, died June 16, 1937; Laura Betsey, born 1862, died Aug 7, 1864.
Knud married for the second time May 13, 1875 to Julia Samson Een, daughter of Peder Samsonson Ã˜en, died march 10, 1910. Four children: Marie Laura Sarah, born March 1, 1876, died Aug 31, 1933; Andrew Samson, born Dec 14, 1879, died Jan 5, 1883; Oscar Louis Manierre, born Aug 14, 1883, died Aug 1 1955; John Arthur, born March 1, 1890, died Set 3, 1940.
Lars Andersen Saue, born April 4, 1839.
One child died on the voyage and another on the Erie canal near Buffalo NY. Children born to Anders Knudson Saue & Ragnild Samsonsdatter Ã˜en in America: Louise.
