I received copies of two marriage records from our family priest in Malta. They were recorded in Latin. These records were for my great, great grandmother, Margharita Borg, and her brother, Joseph Borg.
I hope that someone might be able to help translate both of these documents in their entirety, if possible. Although, I don't believe the information that I'm looking for will be found within them, I am hoping that there will be a clue as to where and when their parents were married. Apparently they lived in Tunis, Tunisia for many years but I haven't been able to locate the marriage record for Annunziato Borg and Maria Xuereb, the parents of Joseph & Margharita.
One word that caught my eye on both marriage records was the word "illegittimum". I'm very curious as to what this is about. Perhaps that's the clue to my mystery.
Unfortunately, the photocopies that I received had ink bleed-through and weren't the best quality copies. And, on top of that the original priests' handwriting was only slightly better than chicken scratch.
If anyone can help interpret these documents as completely as possible, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you!
