According to a article in the Portage Wisconsin newspaper, Thomas Fitzgibbon, a widowerr, volunteered for the Civil war as a officer taking his 13 year old son with him as a drummer.
He does not appear in any of the Wisconsin records.

I have not been able to locate him after the war. Article suggests he may be living in Pennsylvania.
